In week 3, we had 2 session, 2 hours class and 2 hours replacement class. We learnt Chapter 3 which is all about ERD - Entity Relationship Diagram. To be honest, my friends and I were not in the class for the first session because we were embarrassed to come into the class - we thought that the class supposed to be start at 12.30pm but noppeee. So, we study in a room next to a class where Miss Emy was teaching. We came in during second session, where all the students were supposed to present their group project - ERD. But from their presentation, it's understandable even though I wasn't in the first session. It's quiet understandable from the diagram itself and I can differentiate between the entity, attributes, relationship, primary key and foreign key. I'd like to suggest for more this kind of group project like drawing a diagram/mind map (because I'm a visual learner).

Entity Relationship Diagram(ERD): a pictorial representation of a database structure
Components: Entities

Entity: Refers to entity set and not to single entity occurrence
Attribute: Characteristics of entities
Relationship: Associations between instances of one or more entity types that is of interest
Cardinality: minimum and maximum number of instances of one entity that can associated with each instance of another entity.
Steps to draw ERD
- identify the main entities(draw rectangle)
- identify the relationships among the entities(draw diamond)
- identify the cardinality
- identify the attributes of each entity(underline the primary key & draw oval)
- revisit the ERD
