Chocthinie!

Week 1 & 2

Assalamualaikum and hello earthlings :)

New semester, new subjects, new goals and new challenge are coming. In week 1, the class is cancelled because of the public holiday (most of my course-mates weren't back to UTP yet actually) and Ms Emy had some important stuff to do. I'm expecting to have a great semester with this course, Data and Information Management because I do like something that is related to data management and what's interesting is Miss Emy! Our FOP1 lecturer back then when I was in foundation first semester.

In week 2, well actually this is my-kind-of-hectic week because I was involved in iFest. But I managed to come to the class in the midst of my hectic-ness. As usual, the first class was all about introduction. From the course outline to Chapter 2, Database Environment. We were introduced about database, how does file-approach works and database-approach works, the DBMS which stand for Database Management System, the Pros and Cons of using DMBS. The way that Miss Emy taught us is quite easy to understand, Alhamdulillah. I managed to grasp the difference between file-approach(which is not an efficient way due to data duplication) and database-approach(shared data).

Fast forward, we learned the next chapter which is Database Environment. Miss explained about what is ANSI-SPARC architecture, which consist of three levels, External Level, Conceptual Level and Internal Level. She did taught us about the difference between these three levels, data model, database language, data independence and conceptual modeling.

That's all for today. Bye and Assalamualaikum :)
